Looking for expertise with import for export of API prior to having an IND.

I have one lot of API that was brought in as import for export prior to having an IND open. It was recently realized that we have stability samples from this API lot (brought in for export) currently in chambers for ongoing stability studies and therefore cannot be exported. Has anyone experienced this in the past and know the best forward for keeping the stability samples in the US, as is, in chambers to keep our stability studies ongoing?
