As an innovative engineer, author and educator, Kevin’s 37-years of experience has centered on continuously improving transport packaging, logistics and distribution beginning with the biopharmaceutical industry and currently in cell therapy and regenerative medicine. He is recognized internationally as a key opinion leader devoting much of his time to co-authoring, promoting and implementing good cold-chain distribution practices throughout the supply chain.
Kevin retired from a 26-year carrier at Abbott Laboratories in 2005 as a principle packaging engineer specializing in insulated transport packaging. He is a former elected member to the United States Pharmacopeia Convention Expert Committee for Packaging, Storage and Distribution (2010-2015) and a recipient of the 2013 USP Award for Innovative Response to Public Health Challenges for outstanding work and leadership. He a Temporary Advisor to the World Health Organization, a Certified Facilitator for the WHO/PDA Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Management on Wheels Course, and their ePELA Authentic e-Learning Course on Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Management.
A prolific writer, Kevin has published dozens of papers and articles in numerous publications on the topic of cold-chain management for healthcare products. He is the recipient of the Parenteral Drug Association 2015 Distinguished Author Award for his groundbreaking book Cold Chain Chronicles: A practitioners outside the box perspectives on the importance of temperature-sensitive drug stewardship.
