Over the course of the last decade, there has been an increased emphasis on research and development into personalized medicines including cell, gene and immunotherapy treatments. Due in part to advancements in science and the availability of more sophisticated diagnostic tools, which give the medical community a better understanding of the human genome and make it easier to detect genetic mutations affecting individual patients, the outlook is positive.
