Dear Amanda. I just joined this group and even though you raised this question a long time ago, I would like to reply as I have been working on this in the past. I did some investigation, and at least in Nordic and Baltic countries, and I assume it applies to European countries as well, it is sufficient that the destruction depot receives the transportation carton and destroy without doing a new reconciliation of the products. Return documents from the site with a list of products to be destroyed must be enclosed the shipment. I have discussed with auditors and this process is acceptable. However, if for any reason you need to do a second reconciliation, you can ask the depot to open a specific return (e.g. in case there are discrepancies at a site that must be clarified).
