For our company, we make it part of our site selection in Italy to determine if they can destroy product at the site, which reduces the impact of destruction. We also make it clear to our CRO that they need to be able to negotiate a contract with a local destruction company if the site is unable to destroy locally.
Can you amend the contract or request for these additional services? They should be able to do a quick addendum and most CRO’s have relationships that they can leverage. Alternatively if you use a vendor distribution center they may be able to broker a relationship with a local company for you.
